Hartman Poured started as a dream and slowly became the best reality imaginable.

 

After my husband and I found out that we were pregnant in September 2023, I looked for ways to make extra money on the side for a "baby fund". Years prior to marrying my husband, I experimented in the candle making world. At that time, life got in the way and I decided that maybe it wasn't the best time to start something new, but the idea of trying again had always been in the back of my mind. I began testing and creating again daily after clocking out at my full time job. I quickly learned that the enjoyment and satisfaction that candle making had previously given me never left. The desire to make unique wax creations remained in the back of my mind.

 

After several long days and late evenings, I quit my corporate job several months into our pregnancy knowing that quality time with our newest blessing was the most important. I wanted to be able to help provide for our family while also giving our daughter all of my time, every single day. After months of testing, researching, and pouring... I began to relearn the art of candle making.

This is where it all started.

With a supportive community and a lot of ambition, we took the leap and started selling online. After seeing interest from others almost instantly, I decided to step it up a notch. I made larger batches, invested in better labeling materials/design software, and learned how to market our small business. Shortly after, we opened our first storefront in a 200 square foot building in downtown Madison, Indiana. A year later, after receiving an abundance of love and support from our community, we upgraded and moved down the street to a much larger storefront at 317 W. Main St. Madison, IN 47250.

Fast forward to today, we now have a beautiful, loving baby girl who comes to work with me daily. We have a spacious, welcoming storefront and a community of amazing individuals who have helped make all of our hard work worth every second. We are able to offer candle pouring workshops, custom orders, and one-of-a-kind gifts. We welcome new partnerships and wholesale accounts, eager to create a unique, fulfilling experience for everyone.
